"The
created soul is gifted with the knowledge which is proper to it; but after
it is united to the body, it is withdrawn from receiving those impressions
which are proper to it, by reason of the very darkness of the body."
Solomon Ben Judah IBN-Gabirol - Fountain of Life
"Shall we
believe that the soul, which is invisible, and which goes hence to a place
that is like herself, glorious, and pure, and invisible, to Hades, which
is rightly called the unseen world to dwell with the good and wise God
(whither, if it be the will of God, my soul too must shortly go) - shall
we believe that the soul, whose nature is so glorious, and pure, and
invisible, is blown away by the winds and perishes as soon as she leaves
the body, as the world says? Socrates 469-399 BCE - The Phaedo

I want to include this information to help you
understand a little better how the universe works. Interestingly
enough, I am not claiming to grasp it completely, I just want to share what
I have come to understand allowing these truths to unfold through
me.
Let me begin by addressing the trinity. Not everyone believes in
the triune nature of the universe so for argument sake I've included this
little chart to establish a few correlations. This is in no way
intended to diminish the significances of any of these relationship, just
provide structure.

Now consider this. According to the bible
God spoke the Universe into being, creating you like It - meaning
you are creative too. (I would like to get into a discussion about
Mary and the Word becoming flesh, but that's another discussion.)
So lets move on to briefly explain the nature of
mind, body, and soul:
Mind - I had this professor who
spent an entire week discussing the regions and functions of the
brain. He finally concluded, with great pride, that the brain acts
as central control for all bodily functions. No where in the brain
is there a place that thinks. Mind, he said, was not in the body, but rather
the body was in mind. Like God, mind is not localizable but it is
however individualized in and as each of us. This too is another discussion
that could take some time and space. Let me include here some other
key words that will tie this together neatly later: Cause, conscious,
self-conscious or aware, idea, seed, Spirit.
Body - Now if mind can be said to be
the cause the body would be the effect. Here we are speaking of
body, anything
physical or tangible. Using the definition for matter - it has
weight and takes up space. I have often heard and been guilty of
demeaning this part of my being, but it is important to understand that we
each took on bodies for a reason. While they are not the totality of
our being, it is essential that we understand and trust that our Spirit's needed
this experience. Keywords: plant, deed, son, manifestation, effect, form,
result.
Soul - I want you to understand this part
especially since understanding this will help you to understand how prayer
works. The soul is the creative medium of life. It is made up
of the "workers" of the Universe. It is not conscious in
that it does not think or question what it is given, its function is to
produce. This is the realm of pure potential. A brief
example would be to compare it to planting. The soul acts like the
soil, you place into it the seeds of your desire. Given the
right circumstances you get the manifestation of what you planted.
What you plant matters not, its job is produce. Every thought you
think or word you speak is a like seed, it is planted into the Universal
soil/soul and is transformed into some result. It says yes to what
you desire, that is why clarity is extremely important. Confused or
conflicted intentions produce confused or conflicted results.
Keywords: soil, soul, creative medium, subconscious, worker, womb, holy
spirit, invisible force.
Mind, body, soul, word, thought, and deeds all
work in concert. Throughout antiquity man has discussed the soul as
if it belonged to the body and when the body dies the soul is set
free. What I am setting forth here is that the Spirit or Mind is the
point where God is individualized as us. The soul itself is
impersonal and neutral but acts necessarily. This soul consist of
the invisible life forms - ascended masters, ancestors, angels, fairies
and spirits of all types - that supports and maintains physical
life. This combined collective, this matrix is God. Doesn't that
neatly rap up God being everywhere present, all powerful and all knowing? It is all part of one whole that is God.
Having set this forth, let me make this
disclaimer. I meditate and like Socrates "the more I know,
the more I know I don't know." So in my meditations new and more profound
revelations occur constantly. For this reason I reserve the right to modify
or change my mind. This is a process of unfoldment and I will remain
open to receive new information, when and if I do I'll let you know.
